Update September 14, 2013:
The Nina crew to the U. S. Department of State, "What have you done to save us seven?" Sec. John Kerry's staff's answer, "Nothing. Who is this? What do you mean? This is a New Zealand problem, it's not a US problem. Get out of here: you are just a citizen. Don't call here again."
Update September 13, 2013: Landing on Lord Howe Island to refuel. We have used up all the fuel on the island and more will arrive in 8 to 10 days. Plans are to fly Saturday then back to Ballina. The new flights shall be with a different aircraft, a Cessna 404; it has larger fuel capacity and burns jet fuel which is available on the LHI.
"All the Islanders have been great and helped out in any way they could, their sympathy’s go out to the families and they have asked me to pass this intention on directly," Jack Hart, Chief Pilot.
The feelings on the island are compassionate feeling and all are willing to help and do anything they can to help save the Nina 7. We asked locals, "Are they alive or dead?" Their answer: "ALIVE, what is America doing to help?"
